The Phd Economics goal of major donors' is to help set up a scholarship that recognizes the latest educational relationship between Malaysia and New Zealand under the Colombo Plan, which saw a number of Malaysia given the opportunity to study at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. They believe that this scholarship will carry the traditions and support for successful applicants from Malaysia in their studies at the University of Canterbury. Phd Economics Scholarships will be awarded each year in the early years of the University, to an international student from Malaysia who enroll full time at the University of Canterbury in their first year of study of each discipline
